چکیده

Metamorphosis is generally known as the continuous evolution of a source into a target. There is frame-to-frame camera or object motion most of the time when either the source or the target is an image sequence. It would be desirable to make smooth morphing transitions simultaneously along with the original motion. In this paper, we describe a novel semi-automatic morphing technique for image sequences. The proposed technique effectively exploits temporal coherence and automatic image matching. One-to-one dense mappings between pairs of corresponding frames are obtained by applying a compositing procedure and a hierarchical image matching technique based on dynamic programming. These dense mappings can be initialized by sparse frameto-frame feature correspondences obtained semi-automatically by integrating a friendly user interface with a robust feature tracking algorithm. Experimental results show that our approach to video metamorphosis can produce superior results.

Image Metamorphosis Using Optical Flow Techniques

This paper presents an application of optic flow estimation to image metamorphosis. It uses a state of the art optical flow algorithm to do image metamorphosis, which is used in video production. The method presented automates the labor intensive process of image animation. It an advanced optic flow algorithm but the rest of it is simple: most of the code fits in the limited space of this summary.

A loop-consistency measure for dense correspondences in multi-view video

Many applications in computer vision and computer graphics require dense correspondences between images of multi-view video streams. Most state-of-the-art algorithms estimate correspondences by considering pairs of images. However, in multi-view videos, several images capture nearly the same scene. In this article we show that this redundancy can be exploited to estimate more robust and consist...

Multi-step flow fusion

The aim of this work is to estimate dense displacement fields over long video shots. Put in sequence they are useful for representing point trajectories but also for propagating (pulling) information from a reference frame to the rest of the video. Highly elaborated optical flow estimation algorithms are at hand, and they were applied before for dense point tracking by simple accumulation, howe...

Implementation of Differential Optical Flow Algorithms in Natural Rigid Video Motion

Computing the optical flow of a sequence of images still remains a challenge in low-level video processing. Till present, none of the existing techniques has sufficiently generated accurate and dense optical flow fields to robustly represent video motion. In this paper we implement the optical flow algorithms through different lengths of displacements that exist in video motion of natural objec...

Multi-step flow fusion: towards accurate and dense correspondences in long video shots

With high quality editing of video shots of arbitrary duration in mind, we focus on this problem: how to construct accurate dense fields of correspondences over extended time periods using series of elementary optical flows. Highly elaborated optical flow estimation algorithms are at hand, and they were applied before for dense tracking by simple accumulation, however with unavoidable position ...
